The Pinkover project was officially born in the February 2003 when 2 old time friends, Federico Mreule (guitarist and singer) and Lorenzo Vidi (bass player) decided to form a band capable of recreating the sound and feelings of their beloved rockband, Pink Floyd. Along with the careful study of the band’s discography and the use of original equipment from the era, Pinkover was born.
Michele Zabucchi, guitarist and singer, joined the band soon after and the 3 started to look for other musicians in order to complete the lineup. Adriano Chinelli, keyboard player, and Silvano "Silver" Bassi, drummer, showed up and soon the band started rehearsing together the chosen songs.
After a few months unfortunately Chinelli resigned from the band due to health problems and Silvano Bassi was replaced by Andrea Krizman on the drums, soon after replaced by Alessandro Conte, Easyriders’ drummer, a well known band in the area, where Federico and Lorenzo played in.
Dario Degrassi, keyboard player and a long time musician, replaced Chinelli and joined Pinkover. Now the complete ensemble was formed and after a few months of rehearsals the songs were ready and the band performed its first gig in a well known pub of the area. A month later the band played their second gig at the Punto G in Trieste and in the following months they started playing in other venues in northern Italy.
The latest addition is the new backing vocal section made up of Elena Vinci, Alexia Pillepich and Elisa Ritossa. With this lineup Pinkover now is ready to perform a wonderful show, paying a precise tribute to the extraordinaire Pink Floyd.
